This exam is the TS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 – Application Development. Applicants for this exam are consultants that give consulting services for MS Office SharePoint Server 2007 and corporate developers that use MS Office SharePoint Server 2007. The applicants in this exam must have the following experience: six months to one year experience in developing applications by using MS Office SharePoint Server 2007; experience using Microsoft .NET Framework (at least 6 months with ASP.NET 2.0) and Windows SharePoint Services development (6 months to 1 year); experience working with XML documents; experience with XML Web services development and consumption; working knowledge of Windows WorkFlow Foundation; and working knowledge of IIS 6.
If the applicants pass this exam, they will earn credit certification toward MCTS: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: Application Development.
When the exam starts, the applicants can decide what programming language to use wherein the code segments will appear. The applicants may choose from these two code languages that are available: Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 and Microsoft Visual C# 2005.
To help the applicants prepare for this exam, the applicants must have practical experience with the product and they can take other training courses related to this exam. Applicants may take courses such as course 50046A (2 days) and course 50026. They may also take up Microsoft E-Learning collections such as collection 6071 (12 hours). Applicants can also use Microsoft Press books such as Inside Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Inside the Index and Search Engines: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
This exam will measure the skill of the applicants to build Web portals and integrate business applications with the use of MS Office SharePoint 2007. Before the applicants take the exam, they should be proficient in the following:
Managing Enterprise Content – the applicants must do the following: enforce document storage business rules by using Document Policy; audit Windows SharePoint Services content by using a custom policy; manage records by using Office SharePoint Server 2007 record management features; create content by using the Office SharePoint Server 2007 Web content manager features; deploy content between servers; provide variations of Web content; and provision of multiple sites in a hierarchy.
Create Business Intelligence Solutions by using Office SharePoint Server 2007 – applicants should perform the following: display data from a Microsoft Excel workbook by using Excel Services; create a trusted workbook location by using the Stsadm.exe command-line tool; implement business logic by using an Excel Services user-defined function; filter data in a workbook by using Excel Services; provide parameters to a Report Viewer Web Part from a custom Web Part; expose a data source by adding a data connection to a Report Center Web Site; and create a key performance indicator (KPI) Web Part by using data from a report data source.
