Exam 70-350  
The exam 70-350 is on the implementation ISA or Internet Security Acceleration Server 2004 of Microsoft. A passer of the exam will earn the certifications of MCSA and MCSE on Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 server. MCSA is Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and MCSE is Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Aside from this, the passer will also have a certification on MCSE and MCSA on security for Windows Server 2003 operating system.

In addition, the candidates for the exam must have knowledge in Windows 2000 server and Window Server 2003 operating platforms. The candidates should have an understanding of DNS, active directory, DHCP, Remote access and Routing, WINS, RADIUS, Certificate services, SSL, HTTP and FTP. The exam is also best suited to those that have one year experience in administering and implementing operating system and networks under different environments.

Skills Tested In the Exam

The exam has any parts and covers a wide range of topics. One part focuses on the installation and planning of ISA Server 2004. This part of the exam will take up the deployment and planning of ISA server 2004, assessing and configuring of the network services, hardware and operating system. Another part of the exam is on configuring and installation of client computers. This component will involve installation of firewall client software, configuration of local domain table also known as LDT, resolve and diagnose connectivity issues of a client computer and the configuration of the ISA server 2004 for a automatic client configuration with the use of WPAD or Web Proxy Automatic Discovery. Another part of the exam is on the management and configuration of ISA server 2004. This area will cover the configuration of the system policy, define admin roles and the configuration of ISA Server 2004 for the network load balancing. Another component of the exam is on the configuration of web caching. This will involve the configuration of reverse and forward caching, optimization of the performance of the ISA Server 2004 cache, and resolve and diagnose caching issues. The exam 70-350 will also contain a part for configuring firewall policy. This includes planning a firewall policy, creating policy rules for web publishing, mail server publishing and server publishing. The last two parts of the exam is on the configuration and management of connectivity of a remote network and reporting and monitoring the activity of ISA Server 2004. The latter one involves the configuration and running of reports and logging alerts.
